Motorola Droid Flash 10.1 Update Starting Today for Froyo Handsets [Second Android 2.2 Update Coming to Motorola Droid, Flash Player 10.1 Officially Enabled]
It’s finally here, folks, the Motorola Droid second Froyo update you were waiting for it’s currently being rolled out by Verizon, which means you’re going to be available to officially enjoy Adobe’s Flash Player on your “old” Android smartphone.

This second update didn’t arrive on August 18 as previously rumored and it wasn’t sent over-the-air on August 24, two days ago, either. But it looks like the stars have been properly aligned for Verizon to be ready to offer you this very expected update.
But this time around the update is as official as it gets as Verizon has properly announced, not via a full press release, but via a simple, one-paragraph statement that says it all:
“Verizon Wireless has begun pushing an update today to the DROID by Motorola (introduced November 2009) that will allow customers to download Adobe Flash 10.1 via Android Market. Flash Player 10.1 provides access to millions of sites with rich content including animations, casual games, videos, rich Internet applications, audio and much more.”
Of course, those of you that were willing to update their Motorola Droid with Froyo on board themselves in order to enjoy Flash 10.1, were able to do it as we showed you how to get it unofficially a few days ago. But there are definitely plenty of folks out there that have been waiting for the official thing, so we’re going to be waiting for their feedback. How does Flash 10.1 look and feel like? Does the full Internet cost you precious battery life?
Verizon has two handsets now capable to officially offer Flash 10.1 support, the Droid 2 and the Droid, but we’re definitely waiting for the Droid X and the Droid Incredible to also receive the Android 2.2 update, although these two last phones also have manual Froyo update instructions available to bold Android fans.
