Mitsubishi Announces Three New 3D HDTVs
Home theater buffs, prepare to cancel the mail and unplug the phone because you’re about to get a massive shot of joy like you won’t believe. Mitsubishi has announced three new televisions to be released, and they will blow your mind in every respect.
And I mean every respect, too–the massive new Mitsubishis come in three sizes: 40, 46, and 55 inches. Aside from that difference (and the price tags, more on that in a second), the televisions are all identical.
They’re all full 1080p televisions with 3D capability and LED backlighting, the ten speaker DIATONE system, HDMI, USB and SD ports, but this is where it gets interesting. They include a Blu-ray drive in the television itself, as well as a one terabyte hard drive. Yes, the Mitsubishi televisions are their own DVR, and they play Blu-ray discs.
Mitsubishi has often put out fantastic televisions, so it’s certainly no surprise to see them playing in this field. But I can’t recall the last time I’ve seen quite so much packed into one space. In light of this, it’s actually fair to consider that the price tags on these are, in order of size: $3,500, $4,700, and $5,900. They start selling in Japan this October.
