Cellular South Android Ad Pokes Fun At iPhone [Recently Minted Android Carrier Cellular South Has Provocative Android Ad To Offend iFans]

Regional carrier Cellular South has a lot of loyal customers on the internet. Wherever where you go, you’ll find no shortage of Southerns willing to defend their local carrier. Now – I see why. A new banner ad located in Cellular South stores promoting their new Android offerings takes a little shot at Apple.

This banner was sent to AndroidCentral by a reader. Very unsubtly, it shows (as you can see) the little Android mascot blasting through an apple. Or, as AndroidCentral wrote “soaring through (an) Apple”. It would take the village idiot to miss what Cellular South was trying to say here.

Cellular South is offering the Motorola Milestone, which is better known in the United States as the Motorola Droid which it was called when it was a Verizon exclusive. Although the Droid, uh, excuse me, the Milestone doesn’t have any of the modern (as in, the last 9 months) trappings like a 1Ghz processor or an OLED screen, it’s still a perfectly awesome Android phone.

They’re also offering the HTC Hero, a cheaper entry-level Android phone that was sold on Verizon as the Droid Eris. But they’re not just living off of Verizon’s sloppy seconds. The regional carrier is also bringing the Samsung Galaxy S ‘super’phone sometime in the future.

US Cellular, another regional carrier but more popular in the US midwest, is also fully committing to Android and giving their Android offerings pride-of-place in their marketing campaigns. Looks like Android has taken over the regional carriers.
