Samsung Shelves E-Paper Biz

Samsung Decides to Forego the E-Paper Business Due to Cost Issues

For the time being, do not expect Samsung Electronics to come out with an e-reader on their end. An aggressive company in the world of electronics, this is perhaps a surprising development considering the various devices that they have inserted in the market.

And the funny thing about it is that Samsung has not even released an e-reader in the market. While they did show off a prototype of sorts last year, this piece of news does come as a surprise to Samsung’s caliber in the consumer electronics segment.

But let me make it clear, Samsung is not totally giving up on the e-paper binge.

They simply want to make sure that they are getting their returns on investment in the way that their various handsets have done to date.

Word also has it that Samsung will release an LCD first and an e-reader to follow to that effect. So what can we do?

Wait and wait some more!
