Samsung Captivate Available for $0.01 at Amazon; Vibrant Sells for $69.99
The biggest threat for carriers selling the Samsung Galaxy S in the USA right now seems to be the Epic 4G, a slightly modified Galaxy S version coming to Sprint in the very near future. That’s probably why Amazon has decided to offer you the Captivate, AT&T’s Galaxy S, and the Vibrant, T-Mobile’s Galaxy S, for some very special prices.

The Samsung Epic 4G brings a full QWERTY keyboard, 4G WiMAX connectivity and a front-facing camera to the game, so it’s just a little better than its brethren. Sprint is also going to charge just a little more for the device, $250 with a two-year contract so these special offers from Amazon sound great, especially for those of you looking for a Galaxy S but not particularly interested in a physical keyboard, video calls, or 4G speeds right now.
The Captivate, currently selling for $199.99 at AT&T, is available for $0.01 from Amazon but a two-year contract is still required. That means you get to save $200 while still ending up with the phone you are looking for.

The Vibrant is also selling for $199.99 at T-Mobile, but Amazon is going to offer it for $69.99 with a new 2-year contract so you’ll be saving $130 for this Galaxy S version. Of course you could have purchased a $0.01 Vibrant a few days ago when Amazon was selling it at that price but $69.99 is still a great price to take advantage of.
The Epic 4G is coming on August 31, and once that happens Verizon will be the last one missing a Galaxy S version. The Samsung Fascinate that’s supposed to hit Big Red is still not available, and we’re actually not surprised since Verizon has other hot smartphones to sell right now, the Motorola Droid X, still out of stock, the HTC Droid Incredible and the Motorola Droid 2.
