Yesterday we mentioned the Bluetooth keyboard and case combo device for the iPad and how it was spotted in an FCC filing. Well, for anyone that was hoping to see that come available, we have a bit of good news. The KeyCase iPad Folio with Integrated Bluetooth Keyboard is a real product and as to why it was a little bit of good news — it has a product listing however it is noted as being sold out at the moment.

That said, there is a bit of a bright side, the price. The listing, which comes courtesy of online retailer GearZap is showing a price of £59.95, which sounds good to me. If you remember, yesterday I speculated that it would be somewhere around or even above $100 US. Well, the £59.95 price tag translates to around $92 in terms of US dollars at the moment. Which considering that many iPad cases are selling for $50 and higher, sounds pretty fair.

In terms of specs and design, the KeyCase is noted as being made of “durable” leather and having a magnetic flap to secure the case closed. Otherwise, the keyboard is Bluetooth 2.0 and silicone. It is also touted as being both dust-proof and spill-proof and having a battery life of approximately 45 hours.

In addition, the Bluetooth keyboard is noted as using the standard Apple power cable for charging, which is nice, one less cable to worry about remembering. As for saving the battery life, there is an auto sleep mode that will kick in after 10 minutes of non-use. The keyboard is also able to automatically reconnect when turned on.

Alas, while this looks nice and promising we are reminded of the out of stock message. Thankfully, it also says “stock due shortly” which we can only hope is an accurate statement. And while this will not be an everyday use item for me, I for one am ready to make a purchase.
