iPhone 3G iOS 4 Performance to be Improved Says Steve Jobs
No matter how you look at it, the iPhone 3G is not exactly having fun running any iOS 4 version right now. The device is slow and while we did show you an unofficial fix for its sluggishness, that isn’t an acceptable solution. Maybe the phone shouldn’t have been granted iOS 4 capabilities in the first place, although Apple will probably not agree with me here.

On the other side Apple is more than aware of the situation and we’re still waiting for a fix. An official solution to this iPhone 3G iOS performance problem is going to be available soon, and that comes from Steve Jobs himself.
An unhappy Apple customer wrote the following email to Apple’s CEO:
I’ve waited patiently through 4.0.1 and 4.0.2, looking for a fix that will make my phone work again. I’ve read the forums that advise me to jailbreak my phone or use some other method so I can downgrade back to a version of iPhone 3, however I’m not prepared to use a method that is not supported by Apple.
So it looks like there are plenty of Apple customers that will not revert to jailbreaking the phone, but I digress! Here’s what Steve Jobs answered, short and to the point as always:
Software update coming soon.
Sent from my iPhone
So what can we exactly understand by soon? Will the upcoming iOS 4.1 fix iPhone 3G problems? In that case soon must mean September at that’s when Apple is expected to launch the new OS. We’ll be waiting for more details from the official keynote, but let’s just hope Apple has enough time to acknowledge the existence of the iPhone 3G too. After all, there are millions of iPhone 3G handsets out there and Apple can’t pretend like they don’t exist.
