Samsung Cetus i917 Running Windows Phone 7 Poses For Pictures

Samsung SGH-i917 Cetus Gets Pictured, Will Feature 4" Display, 5MP Camera & Windows Phone 7

Windows Phone 7 is coming, and because of that it seems as if we are seeing more leaked images and details of upcoming handsets. One of the latest to get pictured in the wild is the Samsung SGH-i917, which is also know as the Samsung Cetus.

And for the most part, the details on this phone have already been know, but we can thank the Bluetooth SIG for that. Because it has been a while, a refresh on the specs is in order.

According to that listing, which was spotted around the end of July, the specs included a 4 inch touchscreen AMOLED display with an 800 x 480 pixel resolution, 5 megapixel camera on the back and VGA quality camera on the front. Other specs include an FM Radio, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth and microUSB 2.0. Also, unlike what we have come to expect with Android smartphones and how they all have a microSD memory card slot, the Windows Phone 7 phones will not have that extra storage option. In other words, lets hope that Samsung treats us right and adds in at least 16GB of internal storage on the Cetus.

Otherwise, based on this image there is not all that much more to mention, the device looks nice, is black in color and rather shiny looking. Well, that and the three buttons which sit below the display. Basically, we have what appears to be a pretty nice looking handset. Though, and I am likely to believe this is just the angle of the image, the phone looks rather tall and skinny.

Lastly, we do expect the Samsung i917 Cetus to come available with AT&T. That said, we are still unsure of when that will happen, but like anything else, now would be a nice time. But more realistically, we can hope for the generic sounding ‘in time for the upcoming holiday season.’

You know what I like about the new Windows 7 phone OS? It doesn’t work and look like exactly like the iPhone OS (like Android does.) Who would have thought that Microsoft was more capable of original thought than Google?
