Google Chrome OS Based Tablet Rumored For November Release With Verizon Wireless
What would the internet be without crazy rumors? Well, truth be told it would be quite a bit more accurate, but at the same time it would probably be a lot less exciting. With that, the latest story to appear in the rumor mill are details of an upcoming Chrome OS tablet release.

I guess I should get my fanboyism out of the way on this — I so badly want this to come true. And I mean all of it, almost exactly as the current rumor calls for. That said, the details are coming courtesy of the Download Squad blog who are citing “a source.”
As for the tablet itself, nothing overly surprising here. It is said to feature a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution display that is multi-touch capable and have 2GB of RAM and a minimum of 32GB SSD based storage space. Other features should include the usual suspects such as 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a webcam. Furthermore, it may have a multi-card reader and memory card slot.
Otherwise, the Chrome OS based tablet is said to coming by way of HTC, the same company that made the Nexus One so that makes sense and heading to Verizon Wireless. Perhaps the best part of this rumor, there is not only a launch timeframe, but a specific date — November 26th. Which those in the US may recognize as Black Friday, aka, the busiest shopping day of the year and the kick-off of the holiday shopping season.
As for price, unfortunately nothing as specific as the launch date, but something that sounds good nonetheless. According to the details, the Chrome OS tablet will be “substantially cheaper than the iPad — if not totally free — with a Verizon data contract.”
Lets hope, lets hope. As for me and my fanboyism, I would pre-order today if I could.
