Yeah, I know…I died a little inside too when I called the Dreamcast “retro gaming”, but the thing had its heyday almost a decade ago. Yes, I too feel old. But still, if you’ve got a stack of Dreamcast games in your basement (guilty!) we may well be able to get them back to life thanks to things like Techknott’s Portable Dreamcast.

It’s just a mod right now, basically a concept, though there are plenty of people who are specifically asking for this sucker to get produced so that they can buy the thing. It incorporates an LCD display, a VMU chamber and built-in VMU (the old storage system for Dreamcast save games), a slide-open CD slot, original controls and even an A/V out so you can play this on your television.

It’s a thing of beauty, make no mistake, even if we can’t get our hands on one of these it’s still amazing.
