Bell Mobility Announce BlackBerry Curve 3G Availability As August 12th
More and more often companies are taking to using Twitter and/or Facebook to make official product announcements. And while this seems to be a good way to go, these bits are often left with only a partial picture. That said, Bell Mobility has announced that the BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 will be available beginning on August 12th.

We can thank @julieatbell for the information.
“The BlackBerry Curve 3G smartphone will be available this Thursday from Bell Mobility.”
Though, truth be told we would like to know how much it will be selling for. Bottom line, we know the release date is official, but pricing on the other hand not so much. Thankfully though, that is where the internet comes into play and the latest rumored pricing comes by way of MobileSyrup, who are citing an “internal doc.”
As for what that document says, well, the Curve 3G will be priced at;
- $49.95 on a three year agreement
- $199.95 on a two year agreement
- $299.95 on a one year agreement
- $349.95 to go contract free
Of course, given the release is only a few days, we thankfully will not have to wait all that long to see if this pricing is accurate. Otherwise, the Curve 3G 9300 will join the Bell lineup with the already available Curve 8530, Bold 9700, Pearl 3G and the Storm2 9550.
And interestingly enough, while Rogers has Bell beat on the release date by about a full week, Bell does have the price thing going for them. The on contract price with Rogers is $79.99, which is about just about $30 more expensive. Granted, I am not sure how much that will matter in the long run, but there are bound to be bargain hunters that will be happy to go with Bell.
Finally, for those that like to know all the details before making a decision — Virgin has also announced they would be offering the BlackBerry Curve 3G, however as of now we have nothing in terms of a release date or price.
