Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Android Smartphone Gets Confirmed For AT&T
It looks like we can finally put those Xperia X10 coming to AT&T rumors to rest. As of this morning, Sony Ericsson along with AT&T have officially announced the upcoming availability of the Xperia X10 smartphone.

The nice part here is that those interested will not have all that long of a wait. Which really is a good thing considering it feels like it has already been a long wait. With that, the Xperia X10 will come available on August 15th. In terms of price — $149.99 on a two-year agreement. And yes, the title refers to a $129.99 price tag and I just wrote $149.99. It seems they are both correct. Well, maybe not correct, but both are in writing. The $149.99 price tag is what we see in the press release, and the SonyStyle website is listing the $129.99 price tag. Personally, I would opt to make the purchase by way of SonyStyle.
Otherwise, many of the TFTS readers are likely familiar with the Xperia X10 as it has already been available with other carriers. But for those in the US market that may have been ignoring it because it was not an option, lets do a little recap.
The Xperia X10 features a 4 inch touchscreen display, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, GPS, 8.1 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, 8GB of internal storage, microSD card slot with 2GB storage card included and is running Android 1.6. Though, those who make the purchase can expect (on a still unknown date) to get an update to Android 2.1. Kind of a bummer to release with Android 1.6, but hey, the large display and high megapixel camera are both nice perks.
Finally, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 will also include the SE goodies such as Mediascape and Timescape apps.

For example, view photos taken on the device as well as your Facebook® and Picasa™ web albums. Or, when listening to a favorite song on your phone, press Sony Ericsson’s infinite button to access related content about the artist pulled from the phone’s memory as well as albums, songs and video content from YouTube™ and search results from Google.
- Timescape™ is a unique communication application that automatically organizes social interactions in chronological order, leaving users free to concentrate on keeping in touch on-the-go. From Facebook® and Twitter® updates to photos, emails and text messages, a scrolling menu offers easy viewing and organization of all communications. Additionally, tap the Timescape™ infinite button to bring up and view all communications from a single person in a single place.
