AT&T-Friendly Vivaz Spotted On Sony Ericsson's Website
Yesterday’s rumor regarding the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 said that SE’s big Android phone was coming to AT&T, and it was bringing its little cousin, the Symbian-powered Vivaz phone to the United States, too. Now, American-related Vivaz information showed up on Sony-Ericsson’s support website, furthering believe that the Vivaz is headed to the United States.

The guys at Unwired View found a page on Sony Ericsson’s website that made reference to an AT&T Vivaz and it even made reference to AT&T’s 3G bands (1900MHz) and had a weird diagram of the phone with AT&T branding. Sounds like a confirmation to us, but we’ll wait until it comes from AT&T themselves. Remember the Dell Aero? That was confirmed for AT&T and it disappeared.
Shortly after the Unwired View story was posted, Sony Ericsson quickly snapped down that page. Here’s a rundown of the Vivaz’s specs:
- Symbian S60 OS
- 720MHz processor
- 256MB RAM
- 75MB ROM, with 8GB microSD card included
- 3.2-inch touchscreen
- 8MP Camera (with 720p video recording)
Not having any inside information – I’d wager that Sony Ericsson offered AT&T a cheap price on bringing the Xperia X10 to America if they agreed to bring along the Vivaz, too. No offense to anybody who’s waiting for it, but the small, meager, Symbian-running Vivaz really won’t be a hot piece in AT&T’s lineup.
It will probably be cheap, though. We’ll keep you posted when any official update is made.
