More Motorola Android Tablet Rumors Emerge
On April 3rd, 2010 Apple released for the first time what everyone had been speculating for years and years; the iPad. While it was thought to be stupid by some (considering it’s essentially a large iPod touch) Apple loyalists realized its potential and quickly flocked to any retail location they could to grab the device. The haters woes were effectively put to rest when it was made known that the iPad had sold over 3 million units in just 80 days on the market – quite an amazing feat for a device who’s niche has yet to be tapped.

Anyways, regardless if you like Apple or not, its no question that the iPad brought with a whole new found obsession with the tablet form factor. Sure, there had been convertible tablet PCs on the back along with a whole slew of other touchscreen based devices (UMPCs anyone?) but never before had we seen the market so focused on a device that wasn’t a smartphone with just a touchscreen and very few physical buttons.
After the known success of the iPad and the obvious obsession with the tablet form factor, several other companies came forth to announce that they too would be releasing capactive touch screen touting devices onto the market. Motorola, for one, has long been known to be working on an Android based tablet sometimes rumored to be in an exclusive partnership with Verizon.
If you’ll remember, late last month we let you in on some rumors that said this MotoTab (if you will) would feature a 10-inch touchscreen, and Google’s unreleased Android 3.0 ‘Gingerbread’ mobile operating system. Well, today some more rumors have surfaced that stand behind the fact that the device will feature a 10-inch screen but also says that the tablet will have Verizon FiOS TV capabilities along with mobile hotspot capabilities.
There’s no telling if these will be true but if the rumors fall 2010 suggested release date is to be believed, we don’t have terribly long to wait.
