By the end of 2010 Verizon will cover around 120 million Americans with its 4G LTE network and markets like Atlanta and Athens, GA, Dallas, Denton, Forth Worth and Weatherford, TX, east Massachusetts and others will be able to enjoy the new speeds.

In 2011 Verizon will be pretty busy with 4G support coming to the following regions: all universities and most colleges and cities in Louisiana will go live: Shreveport, LA; Bossier City, LA; Monroe, LA; Alexandria, LA; Natchitoches, LA; Baton Rouge, LA; New Orleans area, LA; Lake Charles, LA; Lafayette, LA. For Mississippi: Oxofrd, Jackson, Tupelo, Olive Branch, South Haven, Vicksburg, Hattiesburg, Columbus, Starkville, Meridian and Biloxi. In Alabama: Huntsville, Florence/Shoals, Birmingham, Auburn, Tuscaloosa, Montgomery, Dothan/Enterprise, Mobile, Troy and Columbus; and Morgantown WV.

In 2012 Verizon will bring 4G to all major highways and interstates and cities that happen to be within a 30 mile radios from them

By 2013 the current Verizon 3G network will be upgraded to 4G LTE, so it will take a while until you’ll be able to play with your first Verizon 4G smartphone.

Speaking of 4G equipment, you’ll have to know that two 4G data cards will be available this November while in January Verizon will tell us more about LTE handsets. iPhone LTE anyone?

And what abut special 4G plans? Well it looks like 3G data plans will remain unlimited but the new 4G data plans will be capped at around 5GB per month. It looks like the 4G plans won’t cost you extra, and they will be included in your regular 3G plan. So whenever you use LTE technology you’ll have to watch your meter although you could always switch to 3G web surfing when your initial 5GB expire for the current month.

Apparently all these details have been leaked for someone close to Verizon but we’ll definitely be waiting for the official press release to confirm all of the above. Anyone excited?
