Samsung Galaxy Tab iPad Rival Captured on Camera?

Samsung’s First Android Tablet Briefly in the Wild, Coming to Consumers in Q3 2010?]

Look what the iPad did to the tablet market! The tablet, reinvented by Apple, which wasn’t really something that customers needed in the first place, became a best seller hit and a huge revenue stream for Apple. Naturally everyone else in the mobile business now wants a piece of that action, and we’ve already seen the competition hurry up with their models.

Microsoft’s main man was clear on the need of Windows 7-based tablets, and he probably wishes they never canceled the Courier project after witnessing the success of the magical iPad. But we’ve also seen traces of the BlackPad and of the first Motorola Android tablet recently and there are plenty of other tablets roaming the Internets as it is.

Today we got news of a new device that might turn out to be an impressive player in the tablet business. The Samsung Galaxy Tab is supposed to be a 7-inch device coming hot after the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S. The device has apparently been spotted in the wild and we hear it’s still coming in the third quarter of the year, or at some point in the following months.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab will come with an unknown Android version on board, hopefully Android 2.2 if Gingerbread will not be ready by then, TouchWiz 3.0, GPS, Wi-Fi, 3G, a front-facing and regular camera. We definitely need though an official announcement for this tablet before we get excited by any of its features.

So if you’re not getting the 5-inch Dell Streak at any time in the following months and if you won’t want to wait for the 10-inch Motorola tablet that’s coming in November (still unconfirmed) then a 7-inch tablet might be just the kind of tablet you need. In case you also happen to have purchased the Samsung Galaxy S, a very popular Android handset in various markets right now, then dealing with the Samsung Galaxy Tab will be a lot easier.

Have you purchased a different tablet then the iPad yet? If yes, then what is it?
