Droid 2 Cases On Sale At Best Buy, But No Phones
I’m really starting to think Best Buy Mobile doesn’t care about street dates for products. I mean, they reportedly put the Samsung Intensity II out before it was officially announced by Verizon and one of our readers reported even buying two of them. Likewise now, Motorola and Verizon have yet to announce the Droid 2 officially, but Best Buy is already stocking cases for the new phone. And some have even bought them.

Pictures of the Droid 2 case showed up on the tech blogs, but now it actually looks like an Engadget reader bought one. Again, Verizon hasn’t announced anything officially yet. These cases are made by Rocketfish and seem simple enough. Rocketfish allegedly made cases for the Droid Incredible, as well.
Oddly though, Motorola’s recent marketing campaign for the iPhone says “No Jacket Required” and pokes fun at the iPhone and her antenna problems. Does Droid 2 need a case? Better get to those message boards and start arguing.
Motorola and Verizon are still not admitting that the Droid 2 exists. Once it’s officially unveiled, we’ll get on the horn and arrange a review unit for the TFTS loyal readers.
