Verizon Wireless LTE USB Modem Revealed In Images [LG Made & Verizon Wireless Branded LTE / 4G Modem Leaked]

Verizon has been chatting up LTE for a while and we are all expecting the service to go live towards the end of 2010 with additional coverage to follow in 2011. And while we can imagine that the initial rollout will be limited to larger areas — I suspect many are still curious to see what the LTE modems will look like.

Well, in a little bit of a surprise, BGR has posted some images of the first LTE modem. Or at least what we would all assume to be the first modem that will be released. Of course time will tell on that. Either way though, what we are seeing is an LG made modem that is USB and complete with a nice spot set aside for those previously leaked 4G SIM cards.

Sadly though, aside from the images, of which there are three we have few other details available. Bottom line, the modem is made by LG and is USB. Otherwise the story goes as follows, the images come courtesy of a tipster who is said to be testing the modem. Granted that would lead one to believe that that tipster is also an employee. The only other comment was in regards to the shinyness of the casing. And shiny it seems. Exterior aside though, I am more curious in the pricing, but with people willing to show off images of the modems I can only imagine that we will eventually see prices and other details getting leaked.

All said and done, its a 4G modem. But at the same time I was sort of thinking that Verizon would roll out something a little more advanced as compared to a USB modem for the first. Personally I had more of a MiFi like device in mind. Granted that is only because I would much rather have a portable hotpost capable device as opposed to USB.
