Jailbreak Matrix Tells You What Jailbreak Tools Are Compatible with iPhone 4 & Other iOS Devices

Simple Tool Tells You What Jailbreak Version You Need for Any Apple iOS Device

Earlier this week the U.S. government surprised us all by making jailbreaking, rooting and unlocking a legal option for those smartphone customers that want to access apps unsupported by the manufacturer or free the handset from their current carrier’s claws.

That means even more people are prone to jailbreak, root and unlock their devices and we’re going to talk about iOS machines in particular. It’s unofficially estimated that out of the 100 million iOS mobile devices out there about 10 million are jailbroken already and I am not talking only about iPhones but about iPod touches and iPads too.

And while there are plenty of jailbreaking guides out there (the Jailbreak Matrix isn’t one of them though), what’s most important when looking for the right tutorial is knowing what kind of jailbreaking tool best fits your iOS device. Whether it’s an iPhone 4 (okay, bad example here as there’s no jailbreak solution for it in the wild yet, but you get the idea), iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPod touch 2G or 3G or iPad, you simply have to know what tool to look for in order to perform a fast, swift, problem-free jailbreak.

That’s where the Jailbreak Matrix tool comes into place. The chart will show you exactly what jailbreaking tool you need for your specific iOS device and for the specific iOS version it is running. That way you won’t be bricking your device (which means rendering useless until the iPhone Dev Team comes up with the next jailbreak version.)

So check out the chart, look for the appropriate jailbreaking guide for your unit and then proceed with caution. Warranties may still be voided as Apple is still not ready to let you jailbreak and unlock your iOS devices, as that would ruin your whole iOS experience. Well, you know what else ruins the iOS experience? Having an antenna on the outside, but I really don’t want to step out of bounds here.

Have you jailbroken your iOS device yet? Was the Jailbreak Matrix useful? Remember, we will never encourage you to do it but we’ll encourage you to tell us what went right/wrong!
