Samsung Wave 533 & Wave 525 Announced For Germany

Samsung Wave 2 Pro & Wave 2 Coming To Germany, Priced At €299 Each & Expected To Arrive In August]

Samsung is continuing on with the international rollout of the Bada OS powered smartphones. The most recent release news includes a pair of handsets — the Wave 533 and the Wave 525, both of which have been announced for Germany.

As for the phones, like I mentioned, they are the Wave 533 and Wave 525 but they may be slightly better known as the Wave 2 Pro and and the Wave 2. As of now, Samsung has chosen to make the announcement by way of official press release, and while they gave the pricing, they failed to mention an exact release date. According to the details, both the Wave 2 and the Wave 2 Pro will be sporting the same price tag — €299. As to when, sometime in August.

And while this pair of handsets is running Bada, lets not confuse them with the higher spec’d Wave S8500. In terms of features both of these models are the same, well, the same for the most part. Feature wise you will find a 3.2 inch WQVGA touchscreen display, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 2.1, 3.2 megapixel camera, 3.5mm headphone jack and a FM Radio. The Wave 2 and Wave 2 Pro also have built-in GPS which can be used for geotagging and/or navigating.

In addition the Wave 2 Pro will have a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. And unfortunately these will not have 3G support, instead connectivity comes in the form of quad-band GSM/EDGE.

Other features include social network integration in the form of Facebook, Twitter and MySpace, which comes by way of the Samsung Social Hub. And lastly, the Wave 2 and Wave 2 Pro will have access to the Samsung marketplace, which is appropriately dubbed “Samsung Apps” and will in turn be able to download and install more programs. Additionally, those who purchase the phone and register to use the Samsung marketplace before August 18th will be given a 10 euro voucher to get started with app downloads.
