PS3 Netflix Users Get Substantial Bonus, Ability to Search Netflix Watch Instantly Library [The Option to Search The Watch Instantly Library Will Be Coming Soon to Wii And Xbox 360, But For Now, Only PS3]

Admittedly, PS3 users have been unhappy about the requirement that they’re tied to a disc in order to use Netflix on their console of choice, but a recent development is likely making them quite a bit happier.

An upgrade recently landed for the PS3 version of the application, and though users will still be tied to the disc, at least for now, they now have an interesting new ability: they can search the entire Watch Instantly library and make immediate selections to watch from same.

For instance, one user reported typing the letter “A” into their system and being offered a season of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The picture above reflects this experience.

Xbox Live and Wii versions don’t have this feature, as most are finding to their dismay, but they needn’t be too unsettled. The word is that other systems–at least the Xbox 360–will have a version of this by November.
