Proper Nikon D3100 Unveiling Coming August 19th?

Rumors Point Towards D3100 Being Shown Off During Nikon Event August 16-20 In Europe

When the specs for Nikon’s new entry-level D3100 leaked out, it got a lot of folks’ attention. Now, the camera could officially be unveiled by the Nikon folks in about three weeks. Nikon is hosting a press week in Europe from August 16 to 20 and it’s expected that the new entry-level DSLR will make its debut there.

he guys at CrunchGear report that Nikon will host two events. One will be all about the point-and-shoot market where Nikon will show off some new Coolpix cameras. The second will be about SLRs where Nikon is expected to show off the D3100 as well as four new lens.

The alleged Nikon D3100 will come with some interesting specs for a new entry-level DSLR. It’ll sport a 10MP CMOS sensor as well as record video (which some entry-level DSLR’s can’t do). The video will be able to record at 1080p at 24fps or 720p at 30fps. Per usual, Nikon is expected to offer the camera both with just the body and in a kit with a 18-55mm lens.

If there’s any news, we’ll cover it, for sure.
