HTC Desire Android 2.2 Froyo to Roll Out Tomorrow? [Official Twitter HTC Hints Say Froyo Coming to First HTC Desire Owners Tomorrow]
Yesterday we told you that Verizon’s hot Droid lineup, the Motorola Droid and Droid X and the HTC Droid Incredible, are going to get the Android 2.2 Froyo update starting with next Friday, August 6. While that’s not confirmed yet, we now find out that the first HTC smatphone to get Froyo, not counting the Google Nexus One here, is the HTC Desire, which is basically a Nexus One version.

That’s a pretty obvious move from HTC, updating the Desire among the first of its flagship Android handsets. And this isn’t just an unconfirmed rumor as it comes straight from the Twitter accounts of HTC Netherlands and Mark Moon of HTC Europe. Here are a few translated quotes for you:
We’ll begin with the Android 2.2 upgraded tomorrow for the Desire, other devices will follow.
Tommorow we start with the upgrades to Android 2.2 for the Desire, more devices later on
There’s no official press release to prove any of that yet, but it’s not like we really need one considering that these Twitter accounts are pretty official as they are.
We’ll be waiting for HTC Desire users from all over the world to tell us whether they will be able to get Froyo from HTC in the following days or not.
These tweets also suggests that other handsets will get Froyo in the future, and, even if HTC did officially state that the full Froyo update will be completed by December 2010, we’re more convinced that the Incredible is going to be one of the first smartphone to get Android 2.2 after the Desire.
We’ll report back with more Froyo updates as we get them, but in case you happen to have any Android 2.2 tips for us, we’ll gladly listen to them, just make sure you contact us through the comments form below or though the form found on the Contact page.
