Saitek Pro Flight Brings Out Host of Flight Sim Gear
I’m hard pressed to remember the last time I saw a flight sim game released, but if you can’t get enough of them, then spare a thought for the folks out at Saitek, who’ve just released a massive array of flight sim-specific peripherals that will keep you banking and looping with the best of them.
There’s the Backlit Information Panel, which really doesn’t need a whole lot of explanation and basically just serves as a way to tell you what’s going on with your sim-plane’s engines and such. There’s also the Throttle, Pitch, and Mixture System display box that are actually supposed to be a match for controls found on Cessna, Piper Cub and Money Bravo planes. Lastly, we’ve got the Combat Rudder Pedals, die-cast and rubber, made to be a match for those found on F16 and F35 fighters.
Considering that the Backlit Information Panel and Throttle, Pitch and Mixture System both run $149, and the Combat Rudder Pedals sell for $199, you might wonder if there would be near enough interest to keep these viable. The word from Saitek, however, is that the flight sim community loves this sort of thing and eats it up.
I’m not sure that, in this economy, they love it sufficiently to drop about $500 bucks on the complete package, but you never know. They’re available right now, so if you’re ready for that complete flight sim experience, go get your gear on.
