Motorola Droid X Still Hard To Find
This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anybody, but it’s still really hard to find a Motorola Droid X. This comes from industry analyst Mark McKechnie, from firm Gleacher & Company, who wrote in a note that almost all new supply of the phone is being used to fill existing pre-orders.

According to Mr. McKechnie, anybody calling Verizon’s customer service lines asking after a Droid X were told the fastest way to get one would be to order one online. Verizon was still assuring customers that new online orders would be fulfilled by August 5th.
While it’s bad for customers, and Verizon may not be happy that their customers aren’t getting what they want – one company who is happy is Motorola. Mr. McKechnie expects them to announce that they are on pace to ship 12-14 million Android phones this calendar year. Remember that Motorola is currently producing quite a few Android phones (Droid X, Devour, Backflip, etc. etc.). Android has really been a boost for the American mobile phone company.
Shortages of the Droid X conflict with what Verizon had said about the phone before it’s launch. Before the phone was released, Verizon assured customers that there would be enough phones for all.
