Motorola Droid X, Droid & HTC Droid Increible Android 2.2 Froyo Updates Coming Next Friday?
There’s nothing better to start the day than a fresh Android 2.2 Froyo rumor especially when it concerns Verizon’s hot Android lineup. As you already know, the Droids are due a well-deserved Froyo update and according to a birdie the update is coming next week, on Friday to be exact.

Don’t get all too excited folks as this is just a rumor, that hasn’t been confirmed in any way by either Verizon or the manufacturers of these phones, but their owners are definitely entitled to get it. And the phones in question are, of course, the Motorola Droid X, the Motorola Droid and the HTC Droid Incredible.
Let’s take them one by one, shall we?
The Motorola Droid X is the latest Android addition to Verizon’s lineup and it was supposed to get Android 2.2 Froyo in August. So it would seem that the upgrade is coming according to schedule.
The Motorola Droid is a source of disappointment for its owners when it comes to new OS versions. They waited a long time for Android 2.1 and Android 2.2 was rumored to arrive on July 13 but that never happened. On top of things the Motorola Milestone, the worldwide version of the Droid, might not be upgrading to Android 2.2 anytime soon.
The Droid Incredible is still a hot Verizon phone, even if there’s not enough stock to meet the demand. According to a very recent piece of information, the phone is expected to get Android 2.2 in the following weeks, so that Friday, August 6 day, sounds a lot more plausible.
Furthermore, the Motorola Droid 2 is expected to arrive with Android 2.2 out of the box, although there’s no confirmation on that matter just yet either. What’s safe to say though is that Verizon should definitely hurry up with the Froyo upgrades as Gingerbread is just around the corner.
Last but not least, I’d be surprised to see these three companies, Verizon, Motorola and HTC coordinate a joint Android 2.2 Froyo release, but I’d love to be wrong. We will be back with more news once we get it, so stay tuned!
