Dell Outs New Adapters to Address Throttling Issues

Dell is Now Offering New Powerful Adapters to Address Throttling Issues for Dell Studio Notebooks

A number of Dell Studio laptops have been encountering some CPU throttling issues, much of which were supposedly attributed to higher temperatures.

It seems that under such conditions, the Dell Studio notebooks saw processors spike up to 95% and saw a reduction in the 100 MHz speed.

While a firmware upgrade was already released to address this issue, it seems Dell is upping the pot a bit by offering to replace the stock 90 watt power adapters with more powerful 130 watt models.

The move is not categorized as a proper recall and it looks like this offer will only be valid for customers who called and complained about this problem.

If you are among the many Dell Studio owners who had filed a complaint, you can check it out at this link.

Of course this is considering you have a service tag number with Dell which you may have to mention in order for you to qualify.
