Apple Store Down: New iMac, Mac Pro, Cinema Display & Magic Trackpad on Track for Today? [The Apple Store Is Currently Down for Updates, We Expect Next-Gen Products to Hit Today]

Hold the presses, folks! Just as we told you yesterday, the Apple Store is down. Well we didn’t tell you that the Apple online store would be down today but that’s pretty obvious when suggesting that new iMacs, Mac Pros, Magic Trackpads and Cinema Displays are coming.

And since today’s a Tuesday, a famous week day during which Apple chooses to update its online inventory, we have been regularly checking the online store to see whether it’s business as usual or whether there’s anything new in town.

For the time being the Apple store is down, as you can clearly see in the screenshot above. Of course it could all be just a simple maintenance job, all sites go through them, but we’re pretty sure that , this time around, we’re looking at products update.

Recently we’ve heard all kinds of chatter about the new Mac Pro, the new iMac and the upcoming mystery device, the Magic Trackpad. Add to that a new Cinema Display and you’ll have everything you need to set up your new desktop computer.

Besides talk about imminent upgrades, we also heard that Mac Pro and iMac stocks are down in various stores and they’re not getting replenished. These are all the signs that point to a more than welcomed product refresh, especially since some products are due an update.

The most interesting thing to watch today is the Magic Trackpad, probably a magical device that most of us won’t really need in the very immediate future. Furthermore we’d love to see an MacBook Air refresh, especially considering the rumors that say a smaller Air will be available in Apple stores this year.

And if you’re not willing to pay a premium price for a brand new Apple product, and nobody can blame you for taking such a decision, then you could consider getting a product that’s being discontinued, so to speak today, from third-party resellers, which will be more than happy to sell the “old” machines for a little less in order to make plenty of space in their inventory for the new.
