Onkyo Goes Compact With Two New Systems [Onkyo Targets "Audiophiles" With The CS-1045DAB and the CS-545UK]
You’ve seen Onkyo do a lot of different things, everything from netbooks to picture frames. But where Onkyo is commonly regarded as high-quality is in their audio systems, and thus, they announce two new models, the CS-1045DAB and the CS-545UK.
Geared toward “audiophiles”, the two systems promise to put out quite a bit of power, though you can make that decision for yourself when we put up the tech specs on these systems.
The CS-1045DAB boasts a pair of 70 watt speakers, three analog and both optical and coaxial SPDIF inputs, a USB port, and a 24-bit Burr-Brown DAC. This one will hit stores around the end of August and be available for a projected cost of around $925. And if that’s not high-end enough for you, well, consider getting the speakers upgraded to a matched pair of D-145s for $1,080.
Now naturally, precious few of us can go drop a grand on a new stereo system, and as such may want something a little more budget friendly. Enter the CS-545UK, which boasts a pair of 50 watt speakers, digital amp, tray-loaded CD player, an iPod dock, USB input, video out, and subwoofer out. This one will make you wait until September to save a few bucks, and you’ll be able to get it at $537. Though if you need to save still further, you can get this one without the speakers.
So keep your eyes front, audiophiles–you may have a new love coming soon.
