iMac Shortages Spotted In Apple Stores [More iMac Shortages Could Be An Another Sign Of Mac Pro/iMac Refresh This Week]
Apple’s website for in-store pickup of products ordered online is showing a few retail Apple Stores having shortages of some of the iMacs. “Spot” shortages in the supply chain may mean that Apple is cutting back in production in preperation of introducing the rumored new iMacs and Mac Pros.

As we reported a few days ago, tipsters talking to AppleInsider reported that Apple was notifying official Apple Resellers to prepare for shortages of iMacs. They supposedly did something similar just before announcing the new Mac Minis with HDMI ports. Since it’s been a while since the iMac and Mac Pro were updated, they both seem like likely candidates to receive updates.
Further more, both ATI and NVIDIA have produced Mac drivers for their latest graphics cards (ATI Radeon HD 5000-series, NVIDIA GeForce 400-series) and the latest Intel processors have been sorely absent from the Macs in recent memory.
Both the 21.5- and 27-inch iMacs are allegedly experiencing spot shortages.
Stay tuned – seems highly likely that we’ll see an iMac/Mac Pro refresh this week.
