Panasonic's Affordable 3D Camcorder Leaks Out

Entry-Level HDC-SDT750 Camcorder From Panasonic Has A Big Lens, Should Be Unveiled July 28th

Somebody on Panasonic’s web team accidentally update a page early, spilling the beans on the Panasonic HDC-SDT750 consumer-grade 3D camcorder. All the details about this camera for budding James Cameron types isn’t known yet, but it looks to be shooting 1080p 3D at 60 fps. Nice?

Tech blog Engadget believes that this camera will officially be unveiled next week at a Panasonic event in Tokyo. Panasonic is promoting it as the “World’s First 3D Shooting Camcorder”. As you can see, it’s got quite the front-end on it with the 3D lens on the front. According to Engdaget, this camera is simply Panasonic’s existing HDC-HS700 camcorder (a high-end camcorder with their propagator 3MOS sensor.) with a “3D Conversion Lens”. I mean, all stereoscopic 3D cameras will need two lens, but come on, this thing looks like it has a silencer on the front end.

At any rate, it should be the cheapest way to get into HD 3D home movies. It should come with regular high-end camcorder features like image stabilization, etc. and will record in AVCHD.

Nothing yet on pricing, or a release date.
