Sadist Modder Ports TouchWiz UI To Nexus One, Seems To Enjoy It
Regular TFTS readers will know that we’re no fans of Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. Sure, it’s great if you were a big fan of Symbian in 2002 – but it’s outdated, ugly and cumbersome. At any rate, a German modder and xda-developers forum dweller named rolle3k has managed to port Samsung’s UI to the Nexus One. Why, god, why?

Mr. Rolle3k seems to actually enjoy the TouchWiz UI. In fact, in his forum post on the xda-developers forum, he actually refers to it as “this wonderful launcher”. Regardless of Mr. Rolle’s taste, he’s done something remarkable – he’s managed to get the UI to run inside the exisiting Android framework – so if you can’t/don’t want to get root access on your Android phone, you can use it.
If you haven’t enjoyed the pleasure of experimenting with root access on your Android device – it’s a lot of fun for anybody who enjoys messing around with the deep dark corners of your mobile phone. The xda-developers forum is one place where you can check up on the latest, though I’m sure there are other sites that cater to this secret lifestyle as well.
Those interested in getting TouchWiz on their Nexus One (can’t imagine why), can check out rolle3k’s thread, located here.
