Samsung Haven Flip-Style Phone Announced For Verizon Wireless

Verizon Wireless and Samsung have announced the upcoming availability for the flip-styled Haven. The Samsung Haven will be available as of July 29th, though its available for pre-order as of today.

As far as pricing, expect to pay $39.99. Of course this should go without saying, but that price tag assumes a two year agreement. As for the phone itself, its a flip phone and overall its fairly simple. That said, it is noted as having the “prestigious Good Housekeeping Seal” and as being “ideal for customers who want an easy-to-use wireless phone packed with features.” Easy to use I can agree with, packed with features — not so much, but what you can really expect with a $30 flip phone.

Given that, those who make the purchase will find a “slim form factor” and a 2.2 inch internal display that is noted as being both large and easy to read. And the easy to read appeal comes in courtesy of the adjustable font size. Other features include text message support, 56 polyphonic ringtones and dedicated one-touch keys for 911, voicemail, ICE (in case of emergency), voicemail, speakerphone, voice commands and MyPictures.

And while I am poking a little fun at the expense of the feature set — there is one thing that is interesting. Its the Lifestyle features which is still rather basic but nice to see on a lower priced phone. As for what the lifestyle features offer; a reminder alarm and a fitness trainer that walks you through 15 “unique” stretching techniques. In addition there is also four “healing” music selections and a medical information and medical note section. You know, just in case those stretches get the best of you. But hey, not to worry because you also have that one-touch ICE button for emergency notifications.

Finally, the Samsung Haven also comes sporting a calendar, calculator, world clock and stop watch.

In short, if you are looking for a low priced phone with Verizon, the Haven may be what you are looking for.
