Free iPhone 4 Bumper Program Kicks Off with First Refunds

Apple Starts to Refund Customers for iPhone 4 Bumper Purchases

As you already know Apple decided to solve the controversial antennagate scandal by simply explaining that so many smartphones suffer from signal attenuation and by throwing in a free bumper to current iPhone 4 customers. That’s no way to fix the issue, but that’s not what we’re focusing on here.

Those of you that haven’t purchased your bumper so far are entitled to a free bumper, if in stock, or case from Apple until September 30. After that time who knows what will happen? Will Apple find a solution to fix the Death Grip issue by then or will it continue to offer free bumpers with every phone? That’s not what we’re focusing in this article on either.

What we mean to tell you, after this exhaustive introduction is that Apple has started to refund iPhone 4 bumper purchases for you. In case you did buy your bumper together with the iPhone then Apple will refund your money. Unfortunately for those of you that purchased iPhone 4 cases from other manufacturers you will not be refunded your initial expenses, but what you can still do if you want to stick it to Apple is still order one more free case or bumper from Cupertino. After all you’re entitled to get it.

The first refunds are going to be given to those of you that purchased the bumper online or to those of you that ordered one, again, from the online store. Following that, customers that got a bumper in an actual Apple store will probably be refunded next.

As for ordering your free bumper, we still have no updates for you. Looking over at Apple’s online store, you won’t find any method to order the bumper yet (check picture above), so I guess we’ll have to wait for Cupertino to update the site in the following days. They did say that we will learn more about bumpers availability later this week and well, it’s later this week already.

Have you received your iPhone 4 bumper refund yet?
