RedEye Mini Dongle Update: It's Out!
It was almost two weeks ago exactly that I told you about the RedEye Mini, the tiny little plug-in device that lets you turn your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch into a remote control of unprecedented power and capability. And now, I’ve got some new information for you–it’s out!
That whole bit about it not being available for “a few months” must have been put out to stir the pot, because you can actually buy this now over at Thinkflood’s site.
All you’ll need is one of those Apple devices I mentioned earlier, a RedEye Mini, and a quick trip to the App Store for a free app, and then you’ll be able to turn your Apple hardware into the ultimate in universal remotes.
The RedEye Mini, just to refresh your memory, allows your Apple gear to communicate with most any device that accepts IR commands, which is a steadily growing number of them these days. Just plug it into your headphone jack and it’s well on its way. Word is that these things beat Harmony universal remotes all hollow, and that’s high praise.
High praise, and if you’ve got $49 and an Apple device, you may well want to follow that lead.
