Google's No Longer Offering The Nexus One
Almost as quickly as the experiment began, it has officially come to a close — the Nexus One is no longer available for sale by way of Google’s online phone store. Of course, we all knew this day was coming, after all it was just a few days back that Google announced the sales would end when the stock they had on hand ran out.

Nonetheless, I am not sure anyone expected it to happen quite so quickly. After all it was just yesterday when a Google spokesperson commented to the LA Times that they expected the inventory to last about 10 days. I wonder what happened with that. Was the spokesperson off on their estimates, or did people panic and hit up the store just to make sure they got their purchase in before they were gone.
Personally, I had thoughts of picking one up for myself, but the $500 plus price tag for an unlocked handset kept me away. And with that, I am guessing I am not the only one in that situation. As much as I dislike having a two year agreement and having to wait to get a new phone, its just much more convenient for a regular person to pay $100 or $200 for the phone.
And with that, if you choose to visit the Google.com/phone website now you are greeted with a simple message that reads;
“The Nexus One is no longer available for purchase directly from Google. For more information on how to purchase the Nexus One, check out our help center.”
Bottom line there, the Nexus One is going to remain available with a few select carriers — Vodafone and KT in South Korea. Otherwise, hit up Craigslist or eBay if you still want to rock the Nexus One. And for those wondering, a quick check of eBay is showing plenty of Nexus One phones listed as both new and unlocked with Buy It Now prices in the $600 and $700 price range.
