Windows Phone 7 Samsung Handset Gets Unboxed on Video
We’re a few months away of the official arrival of the first Windows Phone 7 handsets but it looks like we have the first video unboxing of a WP7 Samsung smartphone available for you. These kind of packages are apparently offered to plenty of Windows Phone 7 developers out there in order for them to test appropriately their upcoming apps and tools for the new mobile platform coming from Microsoft.

The phone in the videos below has no public name yet and it might not be the final version of it either and the Windows Phone 7 version might also be different than the one we’re going to see on the first WP7 devices. Nevertheless we still get to see a working Windows Phone 7 smartphone in the videos here, so that has to count for something.
As you can see in the first video, the unit, a Samsung touch-only device, probably a Chassis 1 Windows Phone 7 handset, is made specifically for “DEVELOPERS!!” which means you won’t see this particular device in stores anytime soon.
Out of the box, the SGHI707 (that appears to be the name of the device) reveals a generous touchscreen display, a removable battery, a microSD card slot (which will not be available in the final WP7 phone versions), front facing camera, proximity sensors, three required buttons on the front, a camera-capture button, 5-megapixel camera with Flash, microUSB port, power button, headset jack, volume buttons, microphone and speakers.
After the unboxing of the Windows Phone 7 developers’ edition Samsung device, we get to see how WP7 looks and feels in the following two videos. The next video shows the initial startup and setup of the device and you’ll see how a WP7 should act when turned on for the first time.
The following video takes care of some graphical elements and user interface of Windows Phone 7 and, from the looks of it, we can only conclude that WP7 could be just what the doctor ordered, a dependable iOS and Android competitor for the near future. What do you say, Windows Mobile fans, are you buying a WP7 handset first chance you get?
