BlackBerry Storm 3 Leaked in Training Slides
The BlackBerry Storm 3 might just have what it takes to (finally) be one of the best smartphones made by RIM in a single year. The first Storm was a huge disappointment especially since it was expected an iPhone 3G competitor and failed to deliver. Then along came the Storm 2, which, although better than its predecessor, was overshadowed by the Motorola Droid last year, as both phones were launched around the same time.

And now, considering what RIM is ready to bring to the table when it comes to its operating system, a BlackBerry Storm 3 might finally be appreciated for the smartphone it can be. And since RIM is ready to also announce some totally new smartphone concepts, the Slider and the Flip BlackBerry handsets, the Storm 3 might become even more popular with the crowds later this fall/winter.

I don’t fancy much the Flip, and while I’d use the Slider if I had to, I’d definitely choose a Storm 3 that would run BlackBerry OS 6.0 instead of these new designs. As you can see from the extremely blurry image here, Storm 3 training materials are out in the wild, and Verizon will probably bring the Storm 3 to U.S. customers at some point later this year.
Among the features we get to somewhat read on the slide we spot BlackBerry 6, webkit browser, 512MB of RAM, up to 32GB of storage space via microSD card, 5-megapixel camera with updated UI, Wi-Fi 802.11n and 3G Mobile Hotspot support (which appears to be very popular lately).
No major changes here, but the phone could definitely be a lot more useful/popular than its predecessors. The device is going to be launched in November or December, if the leaked slide above is to be believed, although we have no official sign from RIM yet.
The company is yet to make official the BlackBerry Flip and Slider models so we’ll definitely be looking for a bunch of announcements scheduled for later this year. Who’s excited?
