Free iPhone 4 Bumper / Cases Coming From Apple Next Week to Fix Antenna Reception Issue [Steve Jobs Tries to Clean Apple’s iPhone 4 Mess with Free iPhone 4 Cases]
As you know Apple decided to quickly assemble the troops and mount a fast press conference to talk about the iPhone 4 antenna reception issue otherwise known as the Death Grip.

Apple certainly tried to show that other phones have the same problem, and while that’s definitely true, other phones aren’t showing off their antennas like Apple did when the iPhone 4 was officially introduced. And their owners aren’t submitting plenty of complaints about similar problems.
So what is Apple doing to fix this issue here? Well, basically, it’s not doing anything. There’s no recall, and that would be a really annoying move especially since Apple sold 3 million iPhone 4 units already. And there’s not going to be a permanent fix coming anytime soon.
But Apple has finally decided to offer free bumpers and cases to anyone experiencing the issue. So how does this work? Starting late next week through to September 30 you will be able to ask for a free bumper, or any other case if they’re out of bumpers for your iPhone 4. If you have purchased a bumper already, you will be reimbursed for the money you spent. Hopefully the offer will be available for international iPhone 4 customers too since they are also able to replicate the issue.
In case you don’t want a bumper and you’re still annoyed with the iPhone 4 Death Grip issue you can always return “undamaged iPhone 4” within 30 days and get your money back.
Should you be happy that you’re getting a free bumper, or whatever kind of case Apple will have for you? Well that’s hardly the best way to fix the issue, but at least it’s a free fix as it should have been from the beginning. We’ll also remind you how Apple ignored the problem and instructed its customer care representatives not to offer free bumpers in the past.
Last, but not least, what happens after September 30? Will iPhone 4 customers buying the device after that date have to pay for their bumper or case that would make the iPhone usable?
Any thoughts on the matter, iPhone 4 owners?
