ThinkFlood's RedEye iPhone / iPad Dongle Emerges
Back in early March, there were vague whisperings going around about the RedEye dongle for the iPhone and iPad, that would basically allow unprecedented control over virtually everything in your house from your Apple device of choice. Now it has emerged, and by all indications, this thing’s a doozy.
Actual shots–with an actual video–have hit, and watching this thing in action is downright unbelievable. Basically, the RedEye turns your Apple of choice into a truly universal remote. How truly? Like truly enough to operate anything that accepts infrared communications, like your television or your DVR or in some cases your coffeemaker or a host of other devices.
But at any rate, the RedEye is slated to offer a level of control over just about everything in your home the like of which we’ve never seen before. And how much do you pay for this kind of automation? Well, assuming you’ve already bought everything else, try just $49 for the RedEye itself.
It’s going to be a while yet until this comes out–”a few months” is the current word, which couldn’t be much more vague–so sit back in your chairs and dream of the day, may it soon come, where everything can be run from your iPhone. Or iPad. Whichever.
