HP Pavilion dm1z Ultra-portable Notebook Now Available

HP has just recently added their latest notebook into the available category. The model is an ultraportable, its the HP dm1z which is a follow up to the HP dm1 that was released this past May. As for being an ultraportable, that is due to the display size, which is 11.6 inches.

Or more specifically, the HP dm1z has an 11.6 inch (1366 x 768) 720p display. Other features of the dm1z include a 1.7GHz AMD Athlon II Neo Mobile processor, AMD Mobility Radeon HD 4225 graphics, 2GB of RAM, 250GB hard drive, a 92 percent full sized keyboard and the 64-bit edition of Windows 7 Home Premium.

Additionally you can also expect to find support for 1080p HD content, Altec Lansing speakers, HDMI, VGA, three USB 2.0 ports, 5-in-1 memory card reader and a 6-cell battery that is said to be able to offer up to 5.25 hours of run time.

And what would a notebook be without options to upgrade? In this case you will be able to add in up to 5GB of RAM, a 500GB hard drive or a 128GB SSD, Bluetooth and a Qualcomm Gobi2 for mobile broadband service with AT&T, Verizon or Sprint. As for processor upgrades, those include either a 1.3GHz (K325) or 1.5Ghz (K625) AMD Athlon II Neo Dual-Core.

Otherwise the usual goodies and annoyances are included in terms of software. For example, the HP dm1z comes complete with 60 days of free updates to Symantic Norton Internet Security 2010 and Microsoft Office Starter 2010 as well as options to add on everything from a spare battery, to an external DVD drive to a calculator and numerous software programs.

As for size and weight, those include measurements of 11.4 x 8.03 x 0.78 – 1.20 inches and a weight of 3.24 pounds.

Finally, the HP dm1z is available as of today and priced from $449.99 and as of this posting comes with a free upgrade to a 320GB hard drive.
