BlackBerry Curve 9300, Blackberry 9670 Flip & BlackBerry 9800 Slider Make a Video Appearance
While we’re waiting for RIM to finally announce some of its latest BlackBerry creations, we can definitely check them out in unofficial videos. The handsets in question are the BlackBerry Curve 9300, recently approved by the FCC, and also known as Kepler, the BlackBerry Flip 9670, which we’re not particularly fond of and the BlackBerry 9800 Slider, the first RIM BlackBerry that comes with both a touchscreen and a full QWERTY keyboard.

The first video shows the BlackBerry Curve 9300, which will probably replace the Curve 8520. The unit in the video below comes in purple and has T-Mobile logo on it but that’s said to be the European T-Mobile carrier not the U.S. one. The phone comes with 3G, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi support and from what we can see so far it is running BlackBerry 5.0 for now. What’s weird is that the guy that’s handling the device sent the video to the guy doing the voice over but this BlackBerry 9300 overview is pretty accurate. The phone seems to be pretty similar to previous Curve models but it’s definitely the new Curve in town to play with.
The BlackBerry 9670 flip phone is the device I won’t be able to like at any time in the future. On comparison the Slider looks a lot cooler so if I were to choose between these two babies, I’d go for the 9800 instead. The model displayed here is the old model, as the new model is apparently the one that’s going to be available to the public. The 9670 is again demoed and showed from every angle. The device is running BlackBerry 5.2 but the final version will probably run the last OS version, BlackBerry 6. There’s also a name on the screen there, the Oxford, although we might be mistaking. The 9670 hasn’t been released yet either so we’ll be looking forward to see RIM launch it.
Last but not least, we have the BlackBerry 9800 Slider, which is also a handset RIM has to start selling in stores. The device has a weird form factor but it’s still a much better fit for BlackBerry lovers than the Flip. The handset is a GSM smartphone too and it looks like this baby is branded for AT&T. The screen is quite impressive but smaller than the Storm, even if the two devices are about the same size. The Slider comes with a 5-megapixel camera, not confirmed though, an interesting sliding mechanism, BlackBerry 6.0 OS, which is RIM’s latest mobile platform filled with plenty of cool features. This video is the longest of the three demos available today as the Slider needs some extra attention. Other features include Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, full QWERTY keyboard, touchscreen display, regular trackpad and support for multiple home screens.
So what do you think? Can you choose your next BlackBerry smartphone from the videos above alone?
