HTC HD2 Android & Ubuntu Ports Now Available for the Masses
This is not the first time we’re talking about the HTC HD2 being able to run other OS besides Windows Mobile 6.5 but we happen to have some great news for you. In case you were thinking about installing Android or Ubuntu on one of HTC’s best phones made so far then we can point you in the right direction.

The main problem of the HTC HD2 is the fact that it runs just Windows Mobile 6.5. Moreover the device will not get the much anticipated Windows Phone 7 upgrade so the handset will be forgotten in the near future. But until a HTC HD3 running WP7 hits the stores HD2 owners could install Android or Ubuntu on their favorite phone.
That’s right, the Android and Ubuntu ports for the HTC HD2 are now available to the masses and anyone interested in some manual labor can install these alternative platforms on the HD2.
You can choose between either the Ubuntu Karmic Koala version or Android 2.1 Éclair and from the looks of it you will be able to convert your HTC HD2 back to Windows Mobile 6.5 with a simple reset should bad things happen.
Installing either of the two platforms mentioned above is not risk free, and we’ll warn you, like we always do, that performing such voodoo tricks on your HTC HD2 might void your warranty, not to mention that it could lead to you losing some of your personal files. Before getting your desired mobile platform for the HD2 we advise you to back up all your personal data and read through the instructions available.
We’ll return with more details regarding alternative operating systems for your HTC HD2 once we have them but in the mean time we’ll be waiting for feedback from you guys. Have you ported Android or Ubuntu to your HTC HD2 yet? Is the phone working properly?

Okay, so you say there is an android port for the HD2, but you didn’t give a download link. Can you post the link?
I installed, and while it is very nice to see this in the works, it still has alot of work yet to be done. I hope those guys over at XDA get what they are looking for soon, I like windows mobile due to the fact that it is seamless with my exchange server, but I would like to see android also. Anyways great job, good find, and good luck!
