New Google Nexus One Froyo Available: FRF91 [FRF91 Android 2.2 Froyo Update Available for Google Nexus One Smartphones]
The Google Nexus One is the phone you have to have in case you want to always play with the latest Froyo version in town. We’ve seen so many Froyo updates already, most of them unofficial, that we’re really not that surprised to see Google release one more version, FRF91, which comes just a few days after the official FRF85 hit the streets.

FRF91 is also apparently available as an OTA update and it’s reported to be only 2.2MB in size by some while others says it weighs in at just over 900k. From what we can see so far the zip file (available here) measures just 909k, and when unzipped the three files inside are just around 1.7MB. We can’t say we’re Google Nexus One googlers here, although Android is pretty popular around our virtual office. Therefore we haven’t tested the new OTA update and installed it ourselves but that doesn’t mean you should stay away of FRF91.
No matter how large the file is, FRF91 is still rather a minor update which means you will have no problem installing it on your machines and no hard labor seems to be involved to get the new Froyo version. However, like always with these updates, problems might appear, in which case we advise you to go directly to your carrier’s customer service and ask for appropriate guidance.
The new update is said to address some security issues found in FRF85 although there are no real details about this new version. No changelogs have been made available as of yet but since there’s an official download link available (just above) which proves FRF91 is coming from Google, you should be able to install it without any hassles.
As always, if you do encounter any troubles, make sure you drop us a line and tell us what’s wrong with the new Froyo version for the Google Nexus One. And expect a new one to arrive in the following days!
