Motorola Quench XT3 & XT5 Revealed By FCC

FCC Listing Shows Off Motorola Quench XT 3 & XT5, Both Touting Full Touchscreen, Android & Support For AT&T 3G

FCC listings sometimes give us solid information, and sometimes they simply add to the mystery of a device. The latter being the case with this most recent listing, which is highlighting the Motorola XT502 Greco. Some of you may remember that name, Greco, which is really nothing more than a codename. Still, the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) revealed a grainy image and some basic specs back in late-May. And low and behold, the Greco has returned in this FCC listing.

A few details on the Greco that were confirmed in the Bluetooth SIG listing were that this will be a full touchscreen device along with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, GPS/A-GPS and USB 2.0. The disappointing part here is that the FCC listing does not reveal all of the goodies on the Greco. That said, it does mention what the device will be called when it hits the market here in the US. So without further adeiu — the Motorola Greco will come available as the Motorola Quench XT3 and also the Quench XT5.

That brings us to part of the mystery, what exactly is the difference between the XT3 and the XT5.

Otherwise what we can tell you is that aside from the name of the device, the listing did also confirm one thing — the Quench XT3 and Quench XT5 will have support for WCDMA bands II and IV and that means AT&T here in the US.

Bottom line, this is all still firmly in the rumor category, however it looks like AT&T could get the Motorola Quench XT3 and XT5. And to add some further speculation here, its said the these will serve as the follow up to the current Motorola CLIQ XT. In other words, that means the XT3 and XT5 will be mid-range Android phones that come as full touchscreen devices. Of course, one could guess that a logical difference between the two could be a hardware keyboard. Maybe?
