$330 Samsung Vibrant (Galaxy S) Available Off Contract? We Cheer to That!
The Samsung Galaxy S, a phone that was officially announced at CTIA 2010 in the shadows of the HTC EVO 4G, has surely taken its time to arrive to most markets out there but Samsung seems ready to deliver a huge blow to the competition.

While HTC is struggling to keep up with demand for the Droid Incredible and the EVO 4G, partly because Samsung is supplying some of the parts needed by some HTC Android devices, Samsung gets ready to launch the Galaxy S in various markets, almost simultaneously. The phone will be sold under a different name in various countries/carrier stores but the device is the same.
The Galaxy S is quite a smartphone itself, capable to fight well against the iPhone 4 and satisfy your communication needs no matter how simple or complicated they might be. To prove that we have not one, not two, but all major U.S.-based mobile operators ready to launch it. They call it the Fascinate, the Captivate, the Vibrant or the Epic 4G. And from what we can see so far it looks like each carrier out there was very impressed with the handset; just read those names out loud once again.
But we’re not going to tell you once more what the Galaxy S can do for you when it comes to specs and features. What we will show you is a way to get it contract free (or at least that’s what we think it is). That’s right, the Samsung Vibrant is priced at only $330, apparently without a contract. Can a smartphone be that cheap you ask? Well it would appear so. The Vibrant is the T-Mobile Galaxy S version and it’s set to arrive to your door at some point in the second half of July.
The Vibrant will normally go for $199.99 with a 2-year contract, but why not pay $330 instead and be done with it? That’s a very valid question unless we’re not getting everything right here.
Although we’d rather think the Samsung Vibrant will cost just $330 without a contract, some people point out that the price is available for those of you that want to pay for the device in four equal monthly installments while still having to get on a mandatory contract. Anyone care to better explain this situation?
