Viliv N5 Gets Official Pricing & Shipping Date [Online Retailer Dynamism Announces Viliv N5 MID Will Begin Shipping July 19th & Be Priced From $649]
As a whole I am a pretty big fan of Viliv, with one of my favorites being the S5. And while the S5 features a 4.8 inch WSVGA display with no hardware keyboard, Viliv has recently introduced a new product with an equally sized display and hardware QWERTY keyboard. The device is one that I have mentioned here before, its the Viliv N5, a clamshell styled mobile internet device.

More importantly though, is we now have some official numbers in terms of how much the N5 is going to cost and when it will begin shipping. These numbers are coming by way of online retailer Dynamism, but that is not a surprise as they announced back in early June that they would bring it to the US market.
The N5 will begin shipping on July 19th, and be available in two configurations.
Some shared specs between both models include a 4.8 inch WSVGA (1024 x 768) touchscreen display, 1.33GHz Intel Atom Z520 processor, 1GB of RAM, 32GB SSD, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, GPS Sirf Star3, 1.3 megapixel webcam, Windows 7 and 720p video playback. In terms of battery life, that is said to be up to 6 hours, but more exciting is the quick wake from sleep time — under five seconds. Additionally, the N5 also touts a USB port, microSD card slot and 3.5mm headphone jack as well as built-in microphone and stereo speakers.
As for the two models available, one will include the above mentioned specs for $649 and the second will add in a 3G module (Huawei EM770W) for $799. Personally, I would opt to carry a phone with a Mobile Hotspot option and go with the $649 model, but after having used the iPad with its built-in 3G I can understand the simplicity and convenience of having the service built-in.
Finally, pre-orders will kick off as of July 6th and those who order before the 15th of July will receive a free spare battery (a $50 value).
