The Fingerist Gives iPhone Guitarists Reason To Hit The Lighters

The Fingerist Is A Guitar-Shaped Amp That Plugs Into an iPhone for Guitar Apps

I love the Japanese. Truly I do. These guys have brought me some of the strangest stuff you’d ever hope to see anywhere, and I’m not just talking about their movies, some of which are just non-stop WTF moments. Today, though, I’m bringing you the Fingerist, a device that lets you turn your iPhone into an electric guitar.

From Japanese developer Trinity comes the Fingerist, which lets you slip your iPhone (or, interestingly, iPod Touch) into a slot in the casing, start an app like Pocket Guitar, and then the music generated is transferred out from the speaker.

The Fingerist itself is faux wood grain and has a guitar strap, plus you’ll even be able to further upgrade your iPhone output by hooking the Fingerist itself into a real amp, which makes me wonder if playing with just the Fingerist’s amp will allow you to call it the “unplugged” version. It retails for $150 bucks and is currently on sale, at least in Japan.
