Sprint Bashes iPhone, Droid X In Epic 4G Training Chart

Sprint Employee Briefing On Samsung Epic 4G Compares Sprint's Phones To iPhone, Droids

The folks at Engadget have gotten their hands on some Sprint employee training materials. A chart compares probably the best phones on the market today – the upcoming Epic 4G, the EVO 4G, the iPhone 4, the Droid Incredible and the upcoming Droid X. Since the chart is written by Sprint and is supposed to teach employees on how to talk up the Epic 4G and EVO 4G to customers, the Epic 4G and EVO come out the winners in the big comparison.

A few highlights to note on this Sprint chart – the Sprint folks say that the iPhone and the pair of Droids have “only” 3G. They don’t note that a majority of Americans aren’t covered by Sprint’s 4G network yet – but I digress. They also have the Epic 4G’s 4-inch Super OLED screen bolded on the chart. It’s an impressive screen for sure, but we’ve already seen some fierce arguments from the Apple flock arguing that Apple’s Retina display beats it. As this is being written by Sprint, obviously they’d believe the Super OLED screen is better.

Sprint promotes the the Epic 4G’s inclusion of a QWERTY keyboard, the front facing camera that the Epic 4G has, the big batteries that both phones have as well as the ability to use both phones as a WiFi hotspot.

They also promote how their monthly plan will be cheaper than the competing plans on AT&T and Verizon. This wasn’t completely unexpected, but the same $10 “Premium Data” fee that was attached to the EVO 4G will also be attached to their Epic 4G phone.

These are all great phones, but are the Epic 4G and EVO 4G the best of those five? We’ll let you decide.

Hey… it looks to me that the droid x isn’t really trailing that terribly much. I’m going to stick with it.

That’s a lot of savings in the long run. And ATT is too damn cheap to give me unlimted web. I’ll take the Epic 4g please. My first android phone!
