Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro Out Today
If you liked Sony Ericsson’s full-size Xperia X10 phone but didn’t like it’s full-size prize or big body, then the X10 Mini Pro may be for you. The X10 Mini is a considerably smaller version of the full Xperia X10 (4-inches compared to 2.5-inches), and the new Pro version carries a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

Sony is promoting this thing as the “smallest Android handset with a physical keyboard”. It’s also using Sony’s Android UX platform, their custom UI and software package for Android. It’s recevied critically high reviews and our man Andrew, in his hands-on preview of the first Xperia X10 noted of the UX UI:
When it comes to SE’s Timescape and Mediascape features I really ought to have captured both in action on video but, again, they impressed me so much that it actually didn’t even occur to me to film both in action. … Mediascape and Timescape put you firmly back into the driving seat when it comes to the wealth of media, information and communication that you use in your day to day life and, in case you hadn’t gathered, both impressed me no end.
The Xperia X10 Mini Pro will be running Android 1.6, and comes with the aforementioned 2.5-inch screen, and a 5-megapixel camera. It’ll be coming with a 600MHz processor and 128MB of RAM, and will also come with a 2GB microSD card.
Despite the Sony Ericsson blog’s claims that the phone was out now, we weren’t able to actually even find the phone listed at any online retailers. For comparison, the X10 Mini (sans keyboard) is selling for £249.95 or for free with a contract from various carriers. We expect the Pro variant to be a bit more expensive than it’s keyboardless little brother.
